My Next Project

I was super excited to find this diamond in the rough at a local garage sale:

I just love the old wooden wheels! It’s a little rough now but I am thinking of refinishing it in a style something like this:

What do you think?

Bunny Sign

Recently we added a Bunny to our list of furry family members. She is a Chocolate Mini Rex, super soft, and super sweet! She didn’t come to us with a set name so we decided to call her “Bunny” after deciding “Killer” wasn’t an appropriate name!

Awww, isn’t she cute?DSC_0592

To make her feel more at home I decided to make her a sign for her area in my room. I think she likes it!

Return of PwinTwinkle

PwinTwinkle is a special little Elf sent by Santa to watch over my daughter and our family to ensure we stay on the “nice” list from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. She returns to the North Pole each night to report back to Santa and help out in the workshop. Sometimes PwinTwinkle enjoys getting into a little bit of trouble of her own but so far there haven’t been too many instances where we needed to write Santa and tell on her!

My daughter is super excited that PwinTwinkle made a visit once again this year. Here are some pics of the mischievous things PwinTwinkle took part in last year:

Chicken Wire Memo Boards

Over the weekend I decided it was time to get some of those projects on my list completed. I have wanted to create a chicken wire memo board for quite sometime for myself and my daughter. I decided to finally stop talking about it and get it done.

For my daughter’s memo board I painted the picture frame pink then black and sanded some of the black off before putting on the gloss. I painted the chicken wire pink. Since her bedroom is in the process of being redesigned with the pink and zebra theme I decided to make this frame to match that decor. I used pink and black zebra paper to create the clothespins. She loved her new memo board!

For my memo board, I wanted to create something that went with my “Shabby Chic” decor in my entry way that has become my new obsession. I used an old cabinet door frame that was hollow in the center instead of a picture frame. I painted the frame black then white and sanded off some of the areas to expose the black. I painted the chicken wire black to coordinate. I used some patterned paper that had a vintage/shabby chic look to create the clothespins.

All in all, I think the projects turned out great. Now if only I could do this stuff full time, it’s hard to find the time but it is well worth it when I do!

Until next time!

Background Stamping Project Class

I’m late in posting these photos but a couple months ago my Meetup group gathered together and participated in my Background Stamping Project Class. The object of the class was to create cards without using B&T paper for the background. Instead we were using Close To My Heart Stamps. I think the cards turned out pretty nice!
