China Cabinet Redo

When I purchased my house I inherited a China Cabinet from my mom’s side of the family. I also came with a ton of beanie babies that were meant to “replace” the China :). Here is a not so good picture of the cabinet BEFORE and you can see that it is stuffed with beanie babies…

When my grandma told me that she was bringing me more beanies and a new cabinet on her next trip to visit, I knew I had to find another use for the China Cabinet. My mom didn’t have room for it and since it was in the family for a long time I didn’t want to rehome it. Soooo, I decided to redo it! I have a new obsession with Shabby Chic so I decided to try to create my own version with this massive piece of furniture (I guess I skipped the baby steps and just jumped right in).

So what do you think of my first attempt? I am absolutely in love with it but I also see spots where I could have done a better job.

Holiday Gifts Project Class

I wanted to share the projects we made during my Holiday Gifts Project Class in October. We…

Stamped on a candle, created a custom holiday frame, created a test tube spooky treat holder, created another spooky treat holder (using CTMH ribbon rounds containers), covered a chocolate bar and incorporated a gift card holder, and created a holiday sour cream pouch treat holder!

Black Friday Shopping…

Did you brave the stores or the Web and go holiday shopping?

I did and I have to say that this year was quite peaceful since I completed most of my shopping online, before Thanksgiving.

Lowes, had their Black Friday Doorbuster’s available online at 12am EST Thanksgiving Day (10pm AZ time Wednesday). So just after 10pm my time on Wednesday, I went and added all of my goodies to my cart, clicked on “store pickup, and checked out. Super Easy!!

What was on my shopping list???

Skil 15-Amp 10” Table Saw

Skil 15-Amp 10

Skil 15-Amp 10” Compound Miter Saw

Zoomed: Skil 10" 15-Amp Compound Miter Saw

Black & Decker Power Tool Accessories Kit

Zoomed: BLACK & DECKER 150-Piece Power Tool Accessories Set

Black & Decker Drill

Zoomed: BLACK & DECKER 20-Volt 3/8" Cordless Lithium Ion Drill/Driver

Dremel Rotary Tool Kit

Zoomed: Dremel 200 Series Rotary Tool Kit

I bet you never would have guessed those were on my shopping list, and they weren’t for that special man in my life, they are all for ME! Although that special man is quite excited about having a powerful drill since our other one was quite pitiful!

If it wasn’t for Brittany over at Pretty Handy Girl, I would never have known how to use any of these tools! I can’t wait to have some time to play with my new tools…what should I make first?

Of course I had to throw in something crafty in my purchases. Here is my main item that I actually left the house for…

Brother Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine from Walmart

If you ventured out online or in stores, what goodies did you pick up?

Until next time!

Chic Banner

I created this Chic banner to compliment my redesigned China Cabinet. Don’t they make a great pair?

Tip: The Close To My Heart Exclusive Cricut Cartridge, Art Philosophy, makes creating banners a BREEZE! First, cut your banner shape out of chipboard then “repeat last” with your patterned paper or cardstock. Simplicity!
